The project involves the construction of two residential buildings on the site “En Bonjean”, located southwest of the town of Morges. The challenge is to offer different typologies while keeping a common architectural character to the entire perimeter in order to unify the site and to give a new image to the entrance of the city.
The building to the east, with a central staircase, mainly offers large apartments designed to accommodate families.
The building to the west, with a corridor typology, allows for smaller apartments meeting the needs of older people and corresponding to the requirements of sheltered housing. The distribution space can become a meeting and interaction area between the tenants. APSIP offices, association supporting people with mental disorders, are planned on the ground floor and 1st floor.
Through the study of setbacks and massive railings, nuances from the main road are reduced and the proximity to the lake and port is valued. The project responds to the variety of apartments requested in the specifications and allows social diversity. In addition, generous common areas encourage get togethers and intergenerational activities.
